Her blog really is an amazing thing, it gives you the feel that art and music is something anyone can grasp in a few spare minutes here and there.

Which is about the only time we have, isn't it? ]]>
<![CDATA[Overseas radio]]>Sun, 07 Feb 2010 15:57:47 -0800http://www.millerkelton.com/1/post/2010/02/overseas-radio.html
We continue to get a bunch of overseas airplay, which is starting to raise the question as to why there is so little independent radio at home? A lot of the overseas shows are run by amateurs, including retirees, who take a spin at the DJ Booth once a week for a couple of hours at the local station. What a hoot that would be, eh? The cynic in me thinks that they may be seeking out independent material to avoid royalty payments, but so what....god, how nice that would be to be able to flip on the radio and hear something new?

Closer to home, we're booking a bunch of shows in March and April, so stay tuned. ]]>
<![CDATA[Is "A Man Without a Country" single material?]]>Sat, 06 Feb 2010 13:00:41 -0800http://www.millerkelton.com/1/post/2010/02/is-a-man-without-a-country-single-material.html"A Man Without a Country" was the number one featured song for No Depression Magazine as of February 3, 2010 through February 6, 2010. It was also featured as an Editor's Pick at Indie-Music.com on February 6, 2010. ]]><![CDATA[YOUTUBE ]]>Mon, 01 Feb 2010 10:35:38 -0800http://www.millerkelton.com/1/post/2010/02/youtube.htmlReilley has posted some of the show at VIC on youtube, I think it recorded pretty well and I could hear the fiddle! (Reilley has also been working way to hard,' don't hurt yourself now'.) After watching the show I realized I shouldn't wear my house sweater on stage, it's so comfy, but I don't like the way it looks. I should costume more, sparkles, dresses, lipstick.. what does everyone think? Also should Reilley, charlie, randall, chase and ian wear tuxedos? I know they would love that.. hmm, it's a thought. -tally-ho *JLo*

<![CDATA[Adrift in Blogs]]>Sun, 31 Jan 2010 17:22:02 -0800http://www.millerkelton.com/1/post/2010/01/adrift-in-blogs.htmlOK, so Julia and I are trying to keep up three blogs and one twitter feed, plus occasional postings on Facebook. And god knows what's going on at youtube. I spent half the day today trying to get these to link together. Facebook, youtube, and the website blog allege that they are linked to twitter, but do not appear to actually link -- maybe Julia changed something? I'll e-mail her. She is apparently doing something over at blogspot, which makes my head hurt.

Youtube DOES link to Facebook now, which is my lone accomplishment of the day.

<![CDATA[Australia, Germany and fleeting glory]]>Sun, 31 Jan 2010 11:02:20 -0800http://www.millerkelton.com/1/post/2010/01/australia-germany-and-fleeting-glory1.htmlReilley here. Yesterday was a great day to check the computer just before falling asleep. We were on the air in Melbourne, Australia for the second straight week on Stone Cold Country. We sold our first CD in Germany, jumping over the Rhine from our stronghold in Belgium (I think -- is Belgium east or west of the Rhine? Randal would know). Presently seeking confirmation it is the result of German radio play, fingers crossed.

And as of yesterday, we were one of five top five alt country albums on CDBaby.com. Minutes after I posted it on Facebook, though, we were replaced by some band out of Tennessee. No rest for the wicked, it would seem...I remain confident that strong German sales will allow us to regain our top five status!

<![CDATA[About last night...]]>Fri, 29 Jan 2010 15:08:04 -0800http://www.millerkelton.com/1/post/2010/01/about-last-night.htmlWhat a great evening it turned out to be at Vics! Thank you to everyone who came, drank and had merriment with us! Grassahol, started the evening and are awesome btw. We hope to play with them again soon!!! Apart from some sound problems all went pretty well. I know on my part I'd really like a fiddle player on more of a regular basis! Ian you are great and thank you so much for playin' with us!! I love the element it adds to the album and would like so much to do that live! Thanks so so so much to Chase who played bass at the very last moment, we hope to see him again, please? :) Our new drummer Randall is working out swimmingly and we adore him, keep it up! We sold a few copies of the album, thank you to those folks! Also, big thanks to Jessika, Jim, Brianna, and Jeanne for helping sell cd's and record the show! That will be watched and uploaded soon! SO look for that! Thanks again to Ed for the Miller Kelton freeway sign stickers, hilarious!!
Peace out -jLo

So at this point, I want the band to sound like the Ned Braden quote in Slapshot -- Somebody's gonna kill you, ya dumb son of a bitch, but it's not gonna be me]]>
